We provide a Qualified spectacle dispensing service that can save you lots of money when compared to High Street Opticians.
As our business is run from home, we offer a relaxed yet professional dispensing of spectacle frames, lenses and contact lenses. Our overheads are minimal as we do not need to employ additional staff, or rent premises. This saving is then passed on to our customers.
We will not, and do not raise concerns over the prices charged by other Opticians as they have costs that need to be met. We have simply kept our costs to a minimum by working from home.
This service also extends to NHS customers, including children and the partially sighted.
As Qualified and Registered GOC/ABDO Opticians we are fully insured and are not restricted to any one supplier, so we are able to provide lenses from the following:
Our policy is simple, we endeavour to provide all our patients/customers with the time and patience they deserve.
As Qualified and Registered Contact Lens Opticians we are able to supply your contact lenses, as long as you have an up to date copy of your "contact lens specifications". Your current Optician is legally obliged to provide you with this information as long as your aftercare visits are up to date.
Our contact lens prices are competitive, and we will adjust them in line with our competitors, simply contact us for a quote.
We do not currently carry out eye examinations on the premises.
There are a number of options available to you:
a. Have your eyes tested by an Optometrist and bring the prescription with you.
b. Bring your current (in date) prescription with you.
c. Bring your current (in date) Hospital prescription with you.
d. We can arrange a Private Eye examination to be done at your home, by a Qualified Optometrist.
e. If you are unable to attend a High Street Optician unattended, we can arrange for an NHS Eye Examination to be carried out at your home by a Qualified Optometrist.
We accept NHS vouchers, which are issued by the Optometrist who examines your eyes.
Every Optometrist is legally bound to give you a copy of your Optical Prescription on completion of the eye examination, and if you are entitled to NHS assistance they will give you a GOS Optical Voucher towards the cost of your spectacles.
As Andy Pearce is also a Qualified Optical Technician, we are able to carry out many frame repairs on site.
Many frames that Opticians describe as damaged beyond repair, can be put back to a usable condition by an experienced Optical Technician.
Repairs we carry out on site are joint and bridge solders, re-alignment of frames after being crushed/sat on or stood on. Rimless nuts and bolts, Supra (half frame) re-threading, side tips and nose pads.
Some repairs we may do at no charge out of goodwill, but others will incur a charge. Please contact us for a quotation.
It is important to be aware that Titanium and Stainless Steel frames will need to be sent away to specialist laboratories for repair, and the cost of soldering these materials is between £40-£50.
When frames are broken beyond economic repair it may be possible to cut the lenses into a new frame, so contact us before you throw out your broken spectacles.
We are at the end of the phone so please contact us with any questions.
Our only proviso is that you respect the fact that the practice is run from our home. Our hours of trading are flexible and calls will be answered up until 9.00pm, seven days a week. Only in cases of an emergency should we be contacted after 9.00pm.
